JACKSON’S BACKS BUSINESS AWARDS

5th July 2004

Business in the Community Awards

OUTSTANDING achievements in the business sector have been recognised at an annual awards ceremony.

Business in the Community’s East Midlands Awards for Excellence were established in 1981 to reward companies in the region which have a positive impact on society. They attracted scores of entries throughout the area and this year’s event included a new regional category thanks to sponsorship from Lincoln-based Jackson Building Centres.

Jackson’s, a Business in the Community East Midlands member, contributed £1,000 to sponsor a new award for 2004 – the Rural Excellence category – which was won by Broadgate Builders of Spalding.

Business in the Community East Midlands regional director David Pemberton said the organisation was delighted to receive Jackson’s support. “Sponsorship from companies such as Jackson’s gives us the ability to recognise achievements at a regional level,” he explained.

Jackson’s marketing manager Colin Bartleet said: “Jackson Building Centres is an active supporter of Business in the Community throughout the East Midlands and was delighted to be able to help and support the category for Rural Excellence in this year’s awards."

The ceremony was held at Colwick Hall, Nottingham, with Times columnist Matthew Parris and chief executive of Business in the Community Julia Cleverdon as guest speakers.
