JACKSON BRANCH DUE TO OPEN IN LOUTH

20th June 2004

A NEW branch of Jackson Building Centres will open for business in Louth on July 1 creating 14 jobs and increasing the number of outlets to 20.

Jackson’s has invested more than £1.3 million in the project to refurbish and extend a vacant unit on the Fairfield Industrial Estate including an £800,000 contract awarded to Lincolnshire-based Linpave Building.

The depot, which occupies a 1.67 acre site, will stock a wide range of items such as plumbing and heating supplies, building materials, timber - including a cutting service - landscaping, ironmongery and decorating products. It also features a bathroom and kitchen showroom catering for the needs of both private and trade customers.

Les Bratton, former assistant branch manager at Grimsby, will manage the Louth branch and is looking forward to working in the area which was previously serviced by the company’s Grimsby and Spilsby depots.

People will receive an unusual reminder about the new branch on its opening day thanks to an aeroplane carrying a Jackson’s banner which will circle the region between noon and 2pm. There will also be a chance for customers to win prizes in a special competition.

Jackson’s marketing manager Colin Bartleet said: “We are delighted to be trading in the town and are looking forward to offering the people of Louth and the surrounding area a top-class service.”
