TWO of Jackson’s longest serving employees have received gifts as a show of gratitude for their years of hard work and loyalty.
David Grundy received £500 worth of holiday vouchers in recognition of his 40-years service and his colleague John Owston was presented with a telescope, binoculars and hi-fi when he retired from the company after 47 years.
David, 57, who lives in Branston, currently works in the kitchen showroom at Lincoln. During his time with the company he has gained wide-ranging experience having also worked in the plumbing and heating, fireplace and kitchen departments.
He said: “Jackson’s joint managing director Simon Jackson thanked me for my service and presented me with the holiday vouchers after a meeting. I used them to take my wife away to Sharm el Sheik in the Red Sea and we thoroughly enjoyed it."
John, 62, who lives in Lincoln worked as an estimator in the ironmongery department where he was responsible for issuing quotes and advising customers.
Alison Summers, PA at the Lincoln branch, said: “It was a pleasure working with John. He was polite and always went out of his way to help the customers. I know he was a keen amateur astrologer so I’m sure the telescope and binoculars he was presented with will come in very useful.”
