NEW facilities at a builders’ merchant branch have just been completed as part of Jackson Building Centres’ continued investment in its outlets throughout the East Midlands.

The company’s Sleaford branch in Lincolnshire now has a new warehouse, extended yard area and a plaster and cement shed. The improvements have given the store increased capacity for stock and the scope to expand its already wide product range.

Customer car parking facilities have also been extended to make the East Road store more accessible. Sleaford branch manager Mick Mattison said the developments, which were completed in three months, had increased efficiency and made a big difference to both staff and customers.

“We are particularly busy on the constructional side of the business and now have much more space for a variety of stock such as bagged products and plasterboard. The capability to increase our product range in the future is obviously another big plus,” he explained. “Car parking has been a bit limited in the past but is much better now and customer feedback has been very positive,” added Mick.

The developments at Sleaford are the latest in Jackson’s ongoing investment programme which this year has included extensive refurbishment of the showrooms at Skegness, Horncastle and Gainsborough as well as completion of the purpose-built Swinton branch in South Yorkshire.

Colin Bartleet, Jackson’s marketing manager, said: “Improving and extending facilities at all our branches is very much a priority and the new storage areas at Sleaford will really help to streamline the operation. Our stores are designed to provide a one-stop shop for all customers and these alterations will further enhance that facility.”

The Sleaford store stocks items for a host of building projects including plumbing and heating supplies – which are in particular demand at the outlet –timber, landscaping, ironmongery and decorating products.
