A BUILDERS’ merchant branch has been given a facelift in order to improve facilities for its growing number of customers as well as to update its image.
The Grimsby branch of Jackson Building Centres now has a smart new entrance including a rendered frontage which has been freshly painted in the company’s corporate green.
Visitors can also enter and exit through newly installed automatic doors making the Grime Street store much more accessible to people, particularly when carrying bulky or heavy goods.
Mark Thomas, assistant branch manager at Grimsby, said the alterations had made a significant difference and were designed to be customer friendly. “The frontage was in need of updating but the changes were more about improving access for our customers than anything else. The entrance does look much better though and makes us really stand out,” he added.
This latest project is part of Jackson’s ongoing investment programme at its stores throughout the East Midlands. There have been significant developments at many of its 20 outlets, which cater for both trade and retail customers, ranging from showroom refurbishments to improved customer car-parking. Work is currently under way to transform facilities at the company’s main Lincoln branch where the yard and storage areas have recently been extended in the first phase of an ambitious scheme.
Jackson’s branches offer a wide selection of items and equipment to cater for a host of building needs ranging from minor DIY jobs to major construction projects. Among the items stocked are heating supplies, building materials, timber, landscaping and decorating products. In addition, there are kitchen, bathroom and fireplace showrooms displaying products from leading manufacturers. Some branches – including Grimsby – also offer the option of power tool hire as part of the company’s one-stop shop service so customers are properly equipped to carry out a variety of jobs.
