Jackson Staff and Guests getting in the spirit |
The World Cup may now seem like a distant memory for many of us, but at Jackson Building Centres in Scunthorpe they still have a reason to celebrate.
The local builder’s merchant has successfully reached its goal to raise £1000 for local good causes after it held its recent World Cup open day, which it appropriately named ‘A Day of Two Halves’.
The day kick started with a Trade Open Day at the Scunthorpe branch, which included a breakfast morning and demonstrations by some of Jackson’s suppliers. In the evening, 420 trade customers and guests created quite a crowd as they watched the World Cup England V Sweden game on a luxury big screen at the great new venue The Light. During the evening, dedicated staff worked hard to sell raffle tickets for prizes, which had been kindly donated by Scunthorpe United FC.
Dave Bulmer at Jackson’s Scunthorpe branch who organised the event commented: “We are so glad to have a cause for celebration, it was a really successful evening and this is a really impressive result. On behalf of Jackson I would like to thank everyone who got behind the event to make it such a roaring success and helped us to raise such a considerable sum of money which we are proud to be donating to a number of local projects.”
