A recent Clay Pigeon Shooting Day organised by Jackson Building Centres in Oakham went off with a real bang.

The popular event, which is now in its second year, took place in the picturesque grounds of Grimsthorpe Castle and was attended by around 70 Jackson staff, customers and suppliers.

The day began with a hearty breakfast which got competitors nicely fired up for the clay pigeon shooting competition. Competitors had lots of fun battling it out on the field for first prize.

Bob Kendrick of David Cox Builders won the competition, with an impressive 90% hit ratio. ISOWOOL’s Key Account Manager, Dave Burton presented Bob with his prize, an ISOWOOL Insulation Suppliers Trophy and a cordless Makita Drill, plus a £50 meal voucher to spend at restaurant of his choice. The runners up were John Partridge of Bowman who scooped second prize and Mark Newton of Saniflo in third place, both won a cordless Makita drill.

Norman Popple of Jackson’s Oakham branch, who organised the event commented: “The day was a really great success, everyone who took part had a really enjoyable day. This is an excellent way of thanking our customers for their continued support and of bringing, customers, staff and suppliers together. I think everyone will agree, it’s not the winning that counts, it’s the taking part.”
