JACKSON BACKS SCHOOL’S OUTDOOR PROJECT
18th July 2007
Pupils at a special needs school in Nottingham will be able to enjoy a new outdoor area thanks to a local builders’ merchant.
The seated outdoor area has been created at Ash Lea Special School in Cotgrove after Gill Marshall took charge of a project to transform what was once a small muddy and dirty corner, into a relaxing outdoor quiet area for the pupils to enjoy.
Ms Marshall approached her local Jackson branch for help and was delighted to receive a range of building materials including, timber, brick and paving stones towards the scheme.
Dave Read, manager of Jackson’s Nottingham branch said that he was happy to support the project, which would benefit the pupils: “Being able to relax and unwind outdoors in a special quiet area, is a great idea, which I hope the pupils will be able to enjoy for years to come.”
“We try to support local community projects whenever possible, and are very pleased to have been able to lend our support to this one.”
Ms Marshall said: “We’re delighted with the support we’ve received and I would like to thank Jackson on behalf of the whole school. The area outside the school has been dramatically transformed from a muddy corner into a really pleasant, peaceful area where the pupils can unwind and enjoy some fresh air.”
