JACKSON SHOOTING DAY SUCCESS
13rd August 2007
A recent Clay Pigeon Shooting Day organised by Jackson Building Centre’s Oakham and Stamford branches and sponsored by suppliers Isover, Sandtoft, Bradstone and Castle Cement, proved to be a real shooting success.
The annual clay pigeon shoot day, which is now in its third year, took place on Friday 1st June in the picturesque grounds of Grimsthorpe Castle and was attended by around 70 of Jackson’s staff customers and suppliers.
The day began in traditional style with a hearty English breakfast to get competitors nicely fired up for the day ahead, before getting the clay pigeon shot competition off with a bang.
The competitors enjoyed a successful day’s shooting as they battled it out for the first prize. John Stimson won the competition with an impressive 79% hit ratio. David Burton, Isover key account manager for Jackson, presented John with his first prize and trophy. John fought of stiff competition from last year’s winner Bob Kendrick of David Cox Builders, who this year came second place with a respectable 72% hit ratio. Dave Pallet was hot on his heels in third place with a 71% hit ratio, whilst the ‘Shoot of the Day’ award went to Paul Evans.
Norman Popple, Sales representative for Jackson’s Oakham and Stamford Branches, who organised the event, commented: “As always, the shoot day was a really great success and this year’s competition was bigger and better than ever.
It’s always nice to see Jackson’s staff, customers and suppliers getting together and enjoying a fun day out. I would like to thank everyone who took part and to thank our customers, sponsors and suppliers for their continued support.”
